2016 Two Bright Lights Editor’s Choice Winner!

We hate to gloat but every once in a while we must because today we got awarded the Two Bright Lights Editor’s Choice Award. What is that? Well…. let us explain!
We hate to gloat but every once in a while we must because today we got awarded the Two Bright Lights Editor’s Choice Award. What is that? Well…. let us explain!
An immigrant (like her photographer), Anna moved to the States from England when she was very young so when planning her wedding day, Anna wanted to make sure she included the whimsically nautical aspects of her native home. Thinking through the engagement shoot, then, she asked if I’d be willing to travel to Cape Cod… (not much not to love about the Cape… sprinkle a little love into the equation and you’ve got the makings of a gorgeous engagement shoot….) so BLIMEY! Absolutely!
It’s not often (or EVER!) that a photographer gets to see their work published so when it happens, you better believe we do backflips. And for those of us too old to actually accomplish a backflip, we yell a huge HURRAY from ever rooftop we can find! What’s more, working with this legend was so coincidental and serendipitous, I can’t help but feel like there must be someone watching over the Happy Zebra so thank you, mystery force of the world!
A Cinco de Mayo princess, Lucy had high promise of being one of my favorite newborn shoots… low and behold, I fell deeply in love with this little nugget as soon as she opened those gorgeous blues-in-the-making and belted out a great big “wanh” to say hello.
It’s really no secret that all work and no play makes folks a little imbalanced and an imbalanced Happy Zebra is kind of like that YouTube video of animals drunk on ripe marula fruit (makes me giggle every time though) so here at Happy Zebra, we’re all about balance and a good time. Remember the saying “life’s too short to be taken seriously?” Yeah, that’s still very much our mantra so on a chilly kinda blah day, we head out for a good time. This time to Boston Bowl in Dorchester.
Happy Zebra had the honor of getting featured over the last few months in publications that make us proud of what we do and the smiles we create. Without our amazing clients, none of these special scenes would have been possible so a great big hurray to all their creativity! Love exudes in the most wonderful ways when we open our eyes (and uncap our lenses) to see it.
Another Fantastic night at Harpoon Brewery to support Cystic Fibrosis Lifestyle Foundation (CFLF). Thanks to our very awesome intern, Debbie, who covered it!
So when you’re angling your shots, make sure you capture my double chin on our wedding day. Said no bride, ever! Well, we’re here to tell you there’s a new gem in town to kick start your I-want-to-look-FABOULOUS-in-my-wedding-dress routine! B/SPOKE, like Happy Zebra, believes fitness can be fun, inspiring, therapeutic even! And while there are a gazillion options out there to try to get into wedding day shape, very few options approach it as holistically and with so much fun as B/SPOKE. Their music selection alone speaks volumes!
Natalie and Toby wanted to make sure to do a family shoot with their precious puppy Priscilla before they add a munchkin to the mix so we took a stroll through the Charlestown Navy Yard in Boston and had a blast. Love. Laughter. Joy. Family. Furry & human like.
Every year, BC High honors men and women from the community who’ve made contributions that exemplify Men and Women for Others. The St. Ignatius Award is the highest honor bestowed on a graduate of BC High. This year’s honorees included Thomas G Kelley (’56), John S. Norman (’64) and Donald F. Ward (’53). The evening also acknowledged John H. McCarthy (P’94, ’99) with The Shields Medal.
