Another Fantastic night at Harpoon Brewery to support Cystic Fibrosis Lifestyle Foundation (CFLF). Thanks to our very awesome intern, Debbie, who covered it!
Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is one of the most-common life-shortening hereditary diseases. It is a progressive, degenerative disease with no known cure. Most individuals with CF die young, many in their 20’s and 30’s from lung failure. Recent advances are enabling a whole new population of adults with CF, who must become responsible for their own survival. Maintaining an active lifestyle is one of the best known ways for someone living with CF to not only maintain, but actually improve their health. While healthy individuals often participate in physical recreation “just for fun,” for these individuals, it can be the difference between life and death, but the cost of activities can be the entry barrier.
CFLF supports and inspires CF individuals to fight the odds by raising money for Recreation Grants. These grants will fund gym memberships, skiing/snowboarding lessons, horseback riding, gymnastics, and tons of other activities for people living with CF, offering them fun and free ways to improve their health and self-confidence through physical activities.
